For me, every single tour is something special, because the most important thing for me is being out in nature. As long as I can sit on my bike, I always have a smile on my face.

I was more or less born on an MTB. I got my first bike when I was 3 years old. It was a 12" BMX Rog, which is still in our garage at home. I just can't part with it because it has been with me for quite a long time. That is, until I broke it when I jumped down a flight of stairs on it. I got my first mountain bike when I was 7 years old and from then on it was all about jumps and trails.

My life really changed in 1995, when my father Dixi decided to open the first hotel in Slovenia specialising in mountain biking and the tourism agency Bikenomad. Since then, mountain biking has been an integral part of my daily life.

I've always been an adrenaline junkie who wanted to try crazy things, so I "forced" my parents to let me be a forerunner in a downhill race organised by my father. From that moment on, I couldn't think about anything else. From 15 to 18, I raced in the Slovenian Downhill Cup. It was always my dream to be able to earn a living from mountain biking. When I was 18, I finally did my first guide training from OTC UK. Later I received the Mountain Bike Instructor Award from the Slovenian Cycling Association and the Tour Guide Award from the Slovenian Hiking Association. And so began my career as a professional mountain bike guide. I built up my experience from guiding, teaching, racing and event organising and mountain biking became the air I need to breathe.

I am now a member of the Slovenian Cycling Association and the European Organisation of Mountain Bike Instructor-Guides (with members from France, Switzerland, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Germany and the UK)

In the last 8 years I have also spent a lot of time building trails in our single trail park Jamnica, so far we have already created 20 kilometres! Together with Diddie Schneider, I take care of everything mountain biking related. Our current project is the new "Petzen Thriller" trail, which we will continue to build this year.

But what I'm most proud of is being the father of two really wonderful children. Ivo (4.5) and Aria (1.5) have already accompanied me on many a mountain bike trail - what can I say, mountain biking is simply in their blood!

For me, mountain biking is the "way of life". I love it so much because it gives me a boundless feeling of freedom. I enjoy shredding the trails with my friends or with pro riders and guides from all over the world. But I'm just as happy biking with my wife and kids.
