Berry Line in Kope in Slovenia

This insider tip is all about: Off into the forest! The Berry Line MTB single trail is a flowing forest and nature trail in the Kope bike park between Maribor and Petzen. The surface is wonderfully natural - we surf over forest floor and roots. You should have some experience of picking berries on a bike - then you can fully enjoy the towel-wide trail through the lush greenery!

Berry Line

The Berry Line in Bikepark Kope in Slovenia lives up to its name. The single trail in Bikepark Kope winds its way as a towel-wide path through vast amounts of blueberry bushes that grow along the edge of the trail. The temptation to stop for a quick nibble is already great - but the temptation to surf through the forest without interruption is ultimately even greater. So we leave the berry picking to the others and concentrate fully on the fruity, sweet Berry Line.

Bike parks as far as the eye can see

The small bike park Kope is around two hours' drive south of Graz. Just over an hour to the east, the Maribor bike park invites you to take a detour. The Petzen and the Jamnica trail park are also not far away. In short: we are in a select bike mecca and have chosen a real insider tip with the sweet signature trail Berry Line.

  • a chairlift takes us from the centre of Kope up the mountain
  • various lines and trails are available to us up here
  • including a jumpline

Towel-wide path

For starters, we want pure nature - and above all natural trails! The Berry Line single trail is one such natural trail: the towel-wide path winds through the forest over roots, stones and rocks - with the blueberries that give the trail its name at the edge.

  • natural forest surface over roots & stones
  • open bends & small jumps
  • moderate gradient

Everything within reach

The gradient is never too steep, so we can control our speed well and become increasingly playful. After 150 m and 1.3 km, we arrive back in the centre of Kope - we decide to ride up the mountain again. This time we take the time to look around: Our view wanders far into the low mountain range landscape and yet the forest up here looks mystical, almost alpine with its sparse, steppe-like meadows. We decide to take the Berry Line once again. We simply love the bends, the surface and the forest. But above all the small jumps and open bends, which we now tackle with much more courage. On the next trip, however, it will be the Jumpline - for sure ...
