Lombardy: between high mountains and Lake Garda
Mountain biking and e-biking in Lombardy
In Lombardy, the high mountains meet Lake Garda, steep rock faces meet green high plateaus, wild hinterland meets tranquil lakeside idylls, the sunny balconies of Tremosine meet the Lake Garda Riviera. Small romantic villages, dreamy bays, spectacular tunnels and steep hairpin bends line the Gardesana, one of the most beautiful lakeside roads in the world. It smells of Mediterranean lemons, sun cream and lime spaghetti alla mama.
On a mountain bike holiday on the western shore of Lake Garda, the clocks tick a little slower than on an MTB holiday on the northern shore of Lake Garda. The tours and trails are steeper, the scenery and the alpine abysses more impressive. Mountain bikes and boats are the means of transport of choice in this contrasting region. Because here, on the quiet side of the lake, you will find some of the most exciting MTB spots on the lake. Such as Monte Caplone (1,976 m) in the hinterland and the Alto Garda Bresciano Nature Park. Until the beginning of the 20th century, the western shore of the lake was secluded, with many places only accessible via steep mountain paths or by boat. So it's no wonder that this biking region in Italy has retained its charm and authenticity.
- Terrazza del Brivido - biking on a 400 metre high steep face above Lake Garda
- Passo Tremalzo - the classic alpine trail on western Lake Garda
