Right from the start, there is an approximatley 5 km long ascent to the Stoggersattel (1420 m), which becomes steep towards the end and will make any biker sweat. You´ll be rewarded with an unusual view of the Kanisfluh and a speedy descent to Schönenbach. Schönenbach is a mountain pasture farmed by local farmers in June and September and is a popular destination for families and hikers. Next to the small chapel you´ll find Gasthof Egender, famous for its excellent Bregenzerwälder Käsknöpfle. We continue the tour towards Iferwies Alpe (1041m) staying on the wide track to the Ifer Alpe where we turn left, downhill to the Bütten waterfall. Don't miss the breathtaking view into the deep gorge of the Subersach. Next, head towards the Auenalpen. Before reaching the Auenalpen, turn right towards Helbockstobel Alpe. From here the route climbs steadily uphill to the Gesertobel Alpe (1450m), followed by a short pushing section to Schreiberesattel saddle, before descending moderately through an alpine area to the Sonderdach. At Sonderdach (the middle station of the Bezau cable car) is the mountain inn where Olympic ski jumping champion Toni Innauer grew up. The trail continues downhill through the forest into the valley to the cable car valley station. From here, follow the signpost for "Rimsgrund" to reach the neighbouring village of Bizau (680m). Finally, take the tarmac road via Schnepfegg (870m) to Schnepfau and return to the starting point along the cycle path along the Bregenzerache.
