The region on the border with Germany offers nature lovers a real alternative to more popular hotspots. If you are looking for peace and quiet but still want to be active in nature, there is almost no way around the four communities of Lofer, St. Martin, Unken and Weißbach in Salzburger Land.
Bikers are also in good hands in the Salzburger Saalachtal when it comes to riding fun. People know their way around here and the bike shops and hire stations offer many bikes and e-mountain bikes for hire. The e-bikes really come into their own on cross-border tours to Germany, for example, with many metres of altitude gain and put a grin on everyone's face.
