Sonnenrast Trail in the Kitzbühel Alps

Life Is A Rollercoaster! If you think the dream panorama of the Kitzbühel Alps - Brixental mountain bike region simply can't be topped, then you haven't yet ridden the 8 metre high wooden snail of the new Sonnenrast Trail! So, off you go on the wooden rollercoaster, the banked turns and playful rollers and bridges ...

Sun Rest Trail

The brand new Sonnenrast Trail is a trail highlight for beginners in the Kitzbühel Alps - Brixental mountain bike region. An impressive panorama, spectacular elements such as the 8 metre high wooden snail and a variety of lines are waiting to be ridden. Rookies can start on the kids' trails in the nearby MTB Family Area Streiteck and test their new skills on the Sonnenrast Trail.

New highlight in the mountain bike mecca

The Brixental Valley is a true Eldorado for mountain bikers. After all, we have trail legends such as the Fleckalm Trail and the Hahnenkamm Trail here. Reason enough for the mountain bike Mecca to have been the stage for several high-calibre bike events. In addition to these Kitzbühel Alps classics, you should also give the young and wild ones a chance in Brixental Valley and explore their potential to become cult trails. So add the new Sonnenrast Trail at the Sonnenrastbahn mountain station to your Brixental Valley bike bucket list.

The young savage in Brixental Valley

Together with the MTB Family Area Streiteck, the 1.8 km long blue flow trail perfectly rounds off the trails on offer in the Kitzbühel Alps - Brixental Valley region. For beginners, it offers the necessary first flow feeling - for pros, it serves as a warm-up before entering the Fleckalm Trail.

  • 1.8 km of pure flow enjoyment
  • spectacular 8 m high wooden snail with a breathtaking panorama
  • Berms, playful rollers and boardwalks
  • 0.8 km long Streiteck Trail (medium difficulty) in the immediate vicinity

Off to the wooden rollercoaster

At the mountain station of the Sonnenrastbahn cable car, we get into the saddle and under the wooden arch into the trail fun. The bends are partly gravel and partly earth and lead us down the slope. The natural path is repeatedly interrupted by wooden elements and blends perfectly into the existing landscape with wooden bridges, until we return to the earthy trail. We ride through the spectacular wooden snail right at the start of the trail. The changing surfaces keep the descent exciting and varied, while the trees repeatedly reveal the impressive view of the valley. The crowning glory is the jumpline at the valley station before taking the lift straight back up. After all, one descent is by no means enough.

Bike & Family in Brixental Valley

The brand new Streiteck Family Area is also located here at the Sonnenrastbahn valley station. It has a 100-metre-long conveyor belt, several kids' trails in the skill area and a jumpline. Ideal for families, beginners and rookies to practise, warm up and learn skills. Bike camps and coaching sessions are also organised here. And in the meantime, parents can always keep an eye on their little bikers from the sun terrace of the element3 bike lounge.
