Bike Trail Hahnenkamm in the Kitzbühel Alps

Ready for the Streif? On the Hahnenkamm Bike Trail, you can ride downhill just like Herman Mayer and Didier Cuche not far from the world's most spectacular race piste. Only on two wheels instead of skis. 7 km of pure singletrail enjoyment with plenty of flow, curves and 850 metres of descents high above the alpine town of Kitzbühel lie ahead of you.

Bike Trail Hahnenkamm

Even if the association with the most spectacular and dangerous ski race in the world suggests otherwise: the flow trail on the Hahnenkamm is a piste that beginners can also venture down. The flow dominates in the upper section, while the lower section of the single trail is suitable for families in places, but still demands a little skill and concentration from its riders.

It's One Hell of a Ride!

The best racers in the world have already gathered here and battled their fears in the starting house at 1,665 metres above Kitz. To this day, however, Austrian ski superstar Fritz Strobl holds the valid course record: he crossed the finish line in 1997 after 1:51.58 minutes. The average gradient of the Streif is 27%, the maximum gradient an unimaginable 85%. It's one hell of a ride.

"There is no other starting area where there is such silence as on the Streif. There is a very special atmosphere."
OC boss Michael Huber

Mousetrap, steep slope & Seidlalm

As an S1 single trail, the Bike Trail Hahnenkamm offers one thing above all else compared to the legendary Streif race course - the supreme discipline in Alpine ski racing and the "technical showpiece of the World Cup" - in addition to some technical challenges that are never too demanding: FLOW.

  • beautiful meadows
  • small waves & jumps
  • natural obstacles

Mausefalle, Steilhang & Seidlalm are also impressive in summer - even if we bikers - thank goodness! - don't have to withstand centrifugal forces of 3.1 g on the natural trail compared to the courageous ski racers. For us, there's plenty of flow instead of centrifugal forces!

Summit sea panorama

Involuntarily, you think Herminator Maier, Aleksander Aamodt Kilde or Didier Cuche are about to overtake you with a hiss - we don't reach their average speed of 150 km/h on our bikes. The flow trail remains tame thanks to the good routing. But that doesn't detract from the downhill experience. After all, we also take time to enjoy the fantastic views of the Kitzbühel mountains. For example, from the comfortable wooden loungers in the Chill & Rest area - including views of the Kitzbüheler Horn and the Gamsstadt far below.

We also feel like winners at the finish. After all, we have conquered the Streif.
