This mountain bike tour for advanced cyclists is a classic in the Bregenzerwald. After a short but strenuous climb on the Damüls road, you branch off onto an easy forest road that leads through a shady forest to the Alpengasthof Edelweiß. The route then leads across the alpine area to the Wurzachalpe at the foot of the Kanisfluh. The imposing Kanisfluh is home to around 70 ibex, as well as almost 1,000 different species of butterfly. This is followed by a descent to Alpe Kanis and a single trail (note: this is also the hiking trail!) to the Roßstelle mountain station. From there, an alpine path leads up to the Wildguntenalpe. The descent runs along the forest road to the Mösle and then branches off to the left. A gentle up and down past the Bleichtenalpe to the idyllically situated Hauseralpe. Descend to Mellenbach, followed by a short, crisp ascent to Lindachalpe in Mellental. Roll into the valley on a pleasant downhill section on the road. From Mellau on the cycle path, mostly wild and romantic along the Bregenzerach back to the starting point.
