From the Hotel Ehrwalderhof, we follow Ganghofer Straße south-eastwards to the valley station of the Ehrwalder Almbahn cable car and continue along the very steep, permanently sun-exposed, continuously tarmacked road to the Ehrwalder Alm (a short refreshment stop is recommended). We pass the mountain station of the cable car, the Almgasthaus and the Gasthof Alpenglühn (refreshment tip). This is followed by a short ascent to a forest saddle that leads to the entrance of the Gaistal valley. After a short descent, we follow the signs to the Seebenalm (1575m). The route continues steeply on a rough gravel track to the Seebensee lake, which we reach after another 30 minutes' ride through a picturesque high forest landscape. We return via the same route, alternatively you can turn left into the "Wiesenweg Ehrwald" approx. 150m after the Ehrwalder Alm (very steep and gravelled in places).
