Zirmtrail in Nauders - Reschenpass

Trail fans - and those who want to become one - get their money's worth in the 3-country corner. The area around the Reschenpass is beginner-friendly - the Signature Trail Zirmtrail in Nauders - Reschenpass is the perfect place to start. Whether you want to improve your skills on the bike programme or are in a jumping mood.

Zirmtrail

For beginners, it is not so easy to find suitable terrain - and above all beginner-friendly trails - in the Alps. Alpine trails are often too challenging for the first off-road attempts, while flat cycle paths in the valley do not fit into the MTB picture. The Zirmtrail in the 3-country enduro region around the Reschen Pass and Lake Reschen is the solution to this problem, as the MTB signature trail is the perfect alpine trail for beginners.

One for all: the Zirmtrail

Admittedly, things can get pretty steep in the Nauders - Reschenpass region. And it's almost always high up here. No wonder, since we are in the Tyrolean mountains! That's why the 3-country enduro region surprises with a trail that will delight both young shredders and enduro veterans. The Zirmtrail single trail shines with its

  • flowing course,
  • with lots of waves and a few easy jumps,
  • numerous berms and
  • a mountain panorama that can only be found at an altitude of 2,500 metres!

Varied MTB trails

Thanks to the dense network of mountain bike trails, there are also numerous other MTB trail options on site that will make mountain bikers' hearts beat faster - in the truest sense of the word! - beat faster. After all, the conditions for mountain biking are ideal here - for beginners, advanced riders and experts alike.

"The Zirmtrail winds its way to the mountain station of the Bergkastelbahn cable car in numerous bends and waves."

With the railway to 2,500 m

The Bergkastelbahn is the most direct route to the trail entrance at an impressive 2,500 metres above sea level. Here you can soak up the panorama before you set off. The 6 km long single trail starts above the tree line and offers plenty of space and an unrestricted view down into the valley. As the gradient is never more than 5%, beginners and bike kids will also feel at home here. Numerous waves invite you to roll over them in a relaxed manner - or to jump.

At times, you can safely take your finger off the brake and enjoy the flow, as the speed is reduced and regulated all by itself by small counter-climbs. The destination is the mountain station of the Bergkastel cable car - you can't hide your satisfied grin for long as you look out over the Graubünden mountains. And then? It's off to the second round of Zirmtrail hissing!

From trail to espresso

Of course, the region's most striking unique selling point should not go unmentioned at this point: the 3-Länder Eck. The cultural, linguistic, scenic and culinary mix is unique - sometimes it feels like three mountain bike holidays in one! The best espresso is guaranteed thanks to the proximity to Italy, as are the quaintest Tyrolean Alpine pastures that uphold tradition. Both can be found at the historic Stieralm, for example, which lies at 2,000 metres halfway along the Zirmtrail. A stop for a bite to eat from the sun terrace is highly recommended for the dream panorama alone!

Part two: Flow, flow, flow!

If the upper part of the Zirmtrail is ideal for a warm-up, the route continues almost seamlessly from the Bergkastel cable car, with unrestricted flow. Here you can expect

  • a few wooden elements
  • otherwise hardly any obstacles
  • slightly steeper passages - for a bit more of a challenge
  • great views of the valley and
  • Flow, flow, flow!

The second part of the Signature Trail is perfect for taking the next step. Once you reach the bottom, it's time to hold your proudly swollen chest up to the sun - and tackle the numerous other single trails in the Nauders - Reschenpass region.
